The owner of a popular Lincolnshire florist has shared her excitement over expanding the business into a scenic village. Petal & Stalk, based in Navenby, will open its second store in Woodhall Spa on Thursday, November 23.
The Shepherds Hut shop will be open for three days a week at first, from Thursdays through Saturdays, while the staff find their feet. Owner Hannah North, who returned to her career in floristry in May when she bought Petal & Stalk, said: “The opportunity came up to take over the Shepherds Hut so we did.
“We’re looking forward to it – very much so. We’ll take the opportunity and run with it.” Customers will be able to pick up ready-made bouquets, wreaths, and various plants from the new store.
Mrs North said: “It’s a very small space so, like a pop-up shop, we’ll make the products in Navenby and bring them over for sale on those three days.” The full floristry service will keep running behind the scenes in Navenby, so customers can will be able to book flowers for funerals, weddings or other events.
The 32-year-old said on the shop’s website that she had previously worked in construction until the birth of her daughter, Bobbie. Having kept her hand in floristry over the years, she said: “Every single time I spoke to and worked with another Bride I was reminded of how much I love making their floral dreams come true – but I’ll admit I never thought it could be a career until fate intervened and Petal & Stalk was presented to me as an opportunity.”
Petal and Stalk is now in its ninth year of trading.
