Police have issued an update after a busy Lincolnshire road was closed for nine hours. The A15 Lincoln Eastern Bypass, between Wragby Road and Greetwell Road roundabouts, was closed by police at around 1.30pm on Monday, February 12.
It had been fully reopened by around 10.45pm, just over nine hours later. A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said the following day that officers had been responding to reports of concern for a person’s welfare.
While the force spokesperson said he would not comment further, the matter had been “dealt with”. The road was closed in both directions and police said at the time it was expected to remain closed “for some time” while officers dealt with a police incident.
Drivers were told to avoid the area while the closure was in place, which affected traffic around the outskirts of the city. Access from Hawthorne Road was also suspended.
