Police appeal after unidentified body found in Lincolnshire field

A man’s body has been found in a Lincolnshire field, prompting a police appeal. The corpse of an unidentified man was reported to Lincolnshire Police at around 10.15am on Thursday, February 1.

The body was discovered at the edge of a field near to Ropsley Road, between Ropsley and Oasby. A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said in a statement issued Thursday evening: “It’s not clear when the man died and we have yet to confirm his identity.

“The man is described as white, with a shaved head and was wearing a black parka coat, grey Adidas tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.” An investigation has been launched and officers from the force are appealing for help in identifying the man from the public.

The police spokesperson added: “We would like to hear from anyone who saw anything in the last week or so that might help our investigation, or who may have captured anything relevant on their dashcam.”

Anyone with information that could identify him or help with the investigation is asked to contact the force on 101 or by email.

They should quote incident number 97 of February 1.
