
A person died at the scene after being hit by a train in the city. Paramedics were called to a medical emergency at Skellingthorpe Road in Lincoln during the morning of Monday, November 6.
British Transport Police also attended following reports of a casualty on the tracks. A person was pronounced dead at the scene and the incident is not being treated as suspicious. Tritton Road in Lincoln was closed for some time.
The train line between Lincoln and Newark Castle was closed as a result of the incident, disrupting East Midlands Railway trains on the Leicester/Lincoln/Grimsby and Newark Northgate – Lincoln routes. A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to the line near Lincoln railway station at 10.40am today (November 6) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
