Murder investigation launched after death of Boston bar manager Adi Whiting

A murder investigation has been launched after the death of a popular bar manager who was allegedly assaulted in a Lincolnshire town. Police were called to Witham Street, in Boston, just before 11pm on Sunday, January 14, following a report of a fight outside the Carpenters Arms pub.

Adi Whiting, 35, reportedly suffered extensive brain trauma and was placed in an induced coma at Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. Police have since received formal notification from the hospital of his death.

Police have since launched a murder investigation following the death. Police say a Home Office post-mortem will take place to determine the exact cause of death. Officers are urging anyone with relevant information to get in touch.

A spokesperson for the force said: “As part of our investigation, we are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.”

A 35-year-old man was previously charged with causing grievous bodily harm, wounding with intent, in connection with the incident – and has been remanded in police custody.
