Met Office issues new weather warning for parts of Lincolnshire

A yellow weather warning for rain has again been issued by the Met Office for parts of Lincolnshire. The Met Office predicts heavy rain at times during Tuesday, October 24 which may lead to further flooding.

The warning is in place from 3am until 4pm on Tuesday, October 24. Parts of Lincolnshire included in the warning are Lincoln, Sleaford, Horncastle and Market Rasen.

Heavy rain across the county caused by Storm Babet has already caused flooding over the weekend with water levels rising across Lincolnshire waters. Train services have been cancelled, school children sent home early and residents have also been evacuated from their homes due to the flooding.

The Met Office predicts spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures as well as delays or cancellations to train services. There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, some communities may become cut off by flooded roads and fast-flowing floodwater could cause a danger to life.

The Met Office advises people to check flood advice in their area, slow down when driving, use main roads and help protect vulnerable people that you know.
