Man charged with possession of a knife in public place and repeated ‘menacing’ 999 calls

A man has been charged with possessing a knife in a public place and making repeated calls to 999 that were grossly offensive or menacing. Terry Addison, 35, of Scott Drive, Wyberton, has been bailed to appear at Boston Magistrates Court on Monday, October 2.

Lincolnshire Police received a call on the evening of Tuesday, September 12 from a man alleging that he was in possession of a firearm. The caller said he would harm himself and others at an address in Scott Drive, Wyberton, near Boston.

Armed officers were sent to the scene and saw a man leave the address. The man was tasered and subsequently arrested due to the nature of the threats being made.

Lincolnshire Police shared the news on its site at 9.57am on Thursday, September 14. Wyberton is located just south-west of Boston and on the B1397 between Boston and Kirton.
