Man arrested as police investigate van failing to stop after hitting car

A man has been arrested as police continue to investigate reports that a van failed to stop after crashing into a car in a Lincolnshire town. Officers at Lincolnshire Police received reports of a crash involving a blue Skoda Octavia and a blue Ford Transit pick-up at around 4.20pm on Tuesday, August 29.

The two vehicles are said to have collided at the junction of Harlaxton Road and Dysart Road, in Grantham, before the pick-up driver allegedly drove off. A spokesperson for the force said: “We have arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of failing to stop and criminal damage in connection with this incident.

“He has been released on police bail while we continue our investigation.” He added: “We are asking anyone who might have dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage to check their footage and see if they might have captured the incident, or either of the vehicles in the surrounding streets between 4pm and 4.30pm yesterday.
