A major Lincolnshire road has been shut for a number of hours this afternoon (Monday) – and police say it will not reopen any time soon. A police incident closed the A15 Lincoln Eastern Bypass around 1.30pm.
People have been told to avoid the area, where the closure is in place both ways between the Wragby Road and Greetwell Road roundabouts. There is also no access in the area from Hawthorne Road.
Lincolnshire Police posted on X, formerly Twitter: “Road closure: The A15 bypass between the Wragby Road and Greetwell Road roundabouts in both directions while we deal with a police incident, and may remain shut for some time. Please avoid the area.
“There is also no access from Hawthorne Road. This is incident 182 of 12 February.”
Inrix traffic monitoring system said: “A15 Lincoln Eastern Bypass in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to police incident between the North Greetwell turn off (Wragby Roundabout) and Greetwell Road. The road remains closed following an incident first reported at around 13:30.”
