A historic building has been converted into a luxury hotel in a Lincolnshire town centre. The former local authority office building, on Church Close in Boston, has reopened as a luxury hotel following a £2 million investment and restoration by a local entrepreneur.
Alistair Arundell, who owns Smartmove Hotels, purchased the former County Hall Business Centre in 2021. A significant restoration and conversion project followed and the building was entirely transformed into a 30-bedroom hotel.
The restoration of the building also incorporated a new entrance for the Boston Library and renovation of the exterior entrance within the Old Court House Car Park. Mr Arundell, who also owns The Quayside Hotel, The Stanley Hotel and No. Twenty Hotel, said: “When the opportunity arose to purchase this significant building, I jumped at the chance.
“It always been my dream to utilise the building and I’m now so lucky to have been able to expertly convert it into the stunning hotel that it is now.” The interior has been styled by Nathan Holford and Svetlana Keptenare and each room offers unique experiences with a significant quantity of bathrooms having custom walls provided by Boston based printers, Reco Surfaces.
The hotel has a breakfast lounge, reception area, eco heating system and 24/7 security surveillance. Multiple jobs have also been created including reception, housekeeping, maintenance and security. Alistair added: “My thanks goes to the hard working and talented individuals and my friends and family who have helped to build this fantastic property, a first for our lovely little town, and maybe even for the entirety of Lincolnshire.”
A one night stay for two adults ranges from £94 to £425. The Arundell Hotel can be booked on all major travel sites along with the groups own website smartmovehotels.co.uk and through the hotel’s own website, arundellhotel.co.uk.
