Floral tributes have been left at the scene of an alleged murder after a man was found with what are believed to be knife wounds. Police received a call on Saturday, October 14, just after 4.20am, reporting that a man had been found with serious injuries at a house on Eton Street in Grantham.
Upon arrival, officers found a man with ‘knife wounds’ and he was pronounced dead at the scene. A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
Lincolnshire Police officers and staff remain at the scene on Monday (October 16) and in the local area as the investigation continues. One tribute left at the scene begins with “To my daddy,” while another reads “Life will never be the same without you.”
Detective Inspector Melanie Crutchley, Senior Investigating Officer, East Midlands Special Operations Unit, said: “We are at the very early stages in our investigation. I appreciate the local community will be concerned by this sad news this morning.
“I can say we have arrested a man in his 30s and are not looking for anyone else at this stage. He remains in custody and we will update as the enquiry progresses. I would appeal for anyone who believes they can help with information to get in touch.”
