A Lincolnshire coffee shop is giving back to the community as it celebrates one year since opening. Spokes Coffee Shop, located on Ropery Road, has planned some surprises for residents in Gainsborough and surrounding villages to mark its anniversary on Friday, October 27.
Owner, Ali Allsop, is placing blue helium balloons in various locations around the town and surrounding villages which all have a free gift tag attached to them. Ali is giving away a range of items including a free cream tea or a free coffee.
She said: “I’m super proud of what we have done as a team in a year. We have the same staff in here from the very beginning and so it’s been a lovely journey together. I couldn’t do it without the staff and their support. We are like one big family.”
Spokes offers a range of coffee shop favourites including milkshakes, hot chocolates, soft drinks, bacon and egg sandwiches and cakes. If the balloons are not located by lunchtime on Friday, they will be collected by staff.
Leader of West Lindsey District Council, Councillor Trevor Young, said: “A big congratulations to Spokes Coffee Shop on their 1-year anniversary. It’s great to see a local business in Gainsborough thriving and doing well. I hope local residents find the balloons and treat themselves.”
