Butlin’s evacuated after an unidentified package found

People at Butlin’s in Ingoldmells had to be evacuated after an unidentified package was found on site. Lincolnshire Police were called to the site just after 2pm today (October 1).

Police were informed of the package and as a precautionary safety measure, people were evacuated from the location, on Roman Bank. Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue also assisted with the operation.

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal was called out to the venue as well. Fortunately for everyone involved the package was deemed to be safe.

Lincolnshire Police issued the following update at 4.30pm: “The package has been deemed to be not suspicious. Staff and visitors are now safe to re-enter the site.”
