The bodybuilding icon Ryan Terry is looking to open his first gym in a market town. The fitness facility in Retford will be kitted out with ‘state-of-the-art strength and conditioning equipment’ on top of studios, recovery suites, ice baths, and saunas.
Moving away from the fitness side of things, there will also be a café, a barbershop, salon and tattoo parlour in the centre. Ahead of opening RT Fit in January 2024, the Nottinghamshire-based lifter said: “I hope to inspire individuals of all abilities to enjoy fitness, creating a place for likeminded people to come together.
“I aim to be involved in building that culture and intend to train in the facility personally most days. We’re already making great progress on the project and can’t wait to open the doors of RT Fit [early next year].”
A range of equipment, including free weights and resistance machines, will be available for use alongside a dedicated strength-training zone and cardio. The equipment for the bespoke facility will be provided by partner PRIMAL, with CEO and founder Steve Rinaldi saying it was a ‘really exciting’ venture.
Mr Terry won his first competition back in 2010 and has been crowned the champion at the Arnold Classic (named for sport legend Arnold Schwarzenegger) three times.
He is looking at tackling Mr Olympia in November.
